Truthful Tuesday, a little more serious this time.

This is “Chariots of Fire Theme” by Vangelis.

I only saw the movie once, and my opinion of it is that same as my standard opinion of most 80s movies: suck.

But the song always makes me cry.

When I was little, my family went to a church in town. My parents had moved to Ohio from Oklahoma to help build this church and get it going. (My mom said it was the single most random thing my dad has ever done) It was a beautiful church, large and wonderful, though with no outlandish ornamentation.

My parents put together a slideshow (with slides!) of the building of this church, and set it to the theme from Chariots of Fire.

When they closed that church around 1995-1996 due to waning attendance and financial issues, it broke all of our hearts.

That’s why I cry.

The building still stands, now owned by a software company of some sort.

Some day, I’m going to buy that building back.
